While I maintain that I'm a girly-girl at heart, I should issue a disclaimer that I am by no means a beauty aficionado. When it comes to makeup, hair care, and beauty products, my approach is less-is-more. In recent years, I've become a wash-and-go kind of girl, but I definitely enjoy trying new products once in a while. Because of this occasional interest, I joined Ipsy, a monthly subscription of sample-size beauty products. I've found a fair share of new go-to products through this service and through my own exploration, so I thought I would start chronicling my favorites and sharing them with those interested.
In my February Glam Bag from Ipsy, I received both Mitchell and Peach's Pure Radiance Face Oil and Eva NYC's Up All Night Volumizing Spray, which have remained in constant rotation. I apply the face oil at night after I've washed my face, and I wake up with soft, refreshed skin. Once the sample runs out, I just might have to replace it with the full-size version. Since I don't wash my hair that often, I use dry shampoo quite a bit. The volumizing spray is a great addition to that for livening up my hair on days I skip washes.
The roll-on perfume oil (sold out; similar) was purchased at Urban Outfitters on a whim. Anything with "rose petals" and "bergamot" on the label is fair game for me, and after smelling the light, floral scent, I was hooked and couldn't leave the store without it. I love the long-lasting wear of this perfume made with essential oils, and the pieces of flora displayed in the bottle are oh so pretty.
Also, I haven't exactly been using eucalyptus for beauty purposes, but it sure does smell heavenly! I picked up a $3 bunch at Trader Joe's last week and spread it about my home in little bouquets, and it has contributed significantly to the tranquil vibe I'm cultivating in our new space.
What are your beauty essentials? Do you have a subscription service you swear by? I'd love to hear about them!
xx, Kelsey Lee
