On this frigid yet sunny day, I had the pleasure of meeting up with my friend/photographer Jaquie at one our favorite spots: Henry & June, a self-proclaimed coffee and clothing gallery. Not only do they offer the most delicious coffee, tea, and pastries; they're also a high-end boutique for men and women, carrying duds from such designers as Rachel Comey, Han Kjobenhavn, Objects Without Meaning, and local wonder Megan Huntz. The general aesthetic is clean, minimal, and oh so dreamy.
The tranquil outdoor courtyard (where I am pictured gracefully stuffing my face) is ideal for noshing on bagels, working on projects, and sipping on delicious beverages. My favorite things to order? The s'moretado (a s'mores flavored cortado) and the green tease (a cross between a green tea latte and a chai tea latte), both created by resident coffee aficionado, Dan Mueller.
Owners Camryn Park and Jim Chambers are as ambitious as they are friendly, and I can't say enough wonderful things about the space and environment they've created. They're an active part of Atlanta's creative community, and you never know who you might come across when stopping by Henry & June. In fact, on this particular trip, Jaquie and I had the opportunity to meet Foster founder, Phil Sanders. If you ever find yourself in Atlanta (or more specifically, the Virginia Highlands neighborhood) wondering where you should get coffee and do a little shopping, Henry & June is a worthy destination.
Now for the ensemble... When the low temperatures don't match my spring-dreaming frame of mind, I turn to lighter shades to lift my mood. Dressing in monochromatic tones instantly gives me a put-together feel, and throwing on a coordinating faux fur coat makes it all the more chic. After all, if you have to wear a coat when you're ready for warmer weather, at least it can be bright and fuzzy. And I topped it all off with my favorite raw amethyst necklace for a tiny dash of color.
